These iconic bucket list sites are once in a lifetime, must see Australian Outback destinations. See as much or as little as you wish without having to worry about long car hours, buses or large groups. Flights are tailor made for two passengers, (a couple or shared singles), and will deliver you directly to your destinations. Limited mobility is not an issue, with all landing strips close to accommodation. Be sure to pack your camera as from the air, all these places are a photographers dream.
Add on sights can include Lake Mungo, the Darling River and Gayini Wetlands. Overnight stops and meals in Broken Hill, Birdsville, William Creek and Flinders Ranges are all organised for you.
The Channel Country, Lake Eyre and the Flinders Ranges are best visited from Autumn to early Spring, with bookings made well in advance to ensure suitable accommodation is available.

Lake Tyrrell
Lake Tyrrell is an expansive, shallow, natural salt lake which sits quietly in its pink and white glory near Sea Lake in Northern Victoria. Water in Lake Tyrrell acts as a mirror on calm days, reflecting the sky and clouds which is breathtaking when seen from the air. Visitors are enthralled by the geological and cultural heritage stories of the lake which is a spiritual site of the Wergaia language traditional owners. Photographers are particularly excited to have the opportunity to view and capture this magical landscape of pastel pink and violet from above. The town of Sea Lake is included in the Silos Art Trail and is located on the main route to Mildura from Melbourne.

Lake Mungo
Lake Mungo is an ancient dry lake, part of the Willandra Lakes World Heritage Area. The home of Mungo Man and Mungo Woman, evidence of ancient Aboriginal Culture dating back over 50,000 years has been revealed at this archaeological significant site. Natural erosion of sand and clay over millennia have revealed the secrets of this landscape and created the famously spectacular pastel hued dune fields and lunettes, stunning when viewed from the air. Three traditional owner groups care for country at Mungo, the Paakanti, Ngyiampaa and Mutthi Mutthi people.

Yanga National Park / Gayini Wetlands
Yanga National Park and the adjacent Gayini wetlands are located between Balranald and Maude in SW NSW. These stunningly diverse sites feature internationally significant wetlands and Redgum forests. Together they comprise some 200,000 ha and are the floodplains of the lower reaches of the Murrumbidgee and Lachlan Rivers. From the air they present as a myriad of forest, lakes, creeks, river courses and mudflats. Fly over the old Yanga Station homestead on the banks of the kidney shaped Yanga Lake, then follow the river courses upstream. Here, where the water spills over the semi arid landscape the vegetation comes alive with a variety of hues of green, violet, orange and pink changing to warm oranges and browns depending on the season. This is a truly incredible opportunity to fly over these ever changing, newly created conservation areas. Yanga National Park is home to the Muthi Muthi people and Gayini the Nari Nari traditional owners.

Lake Mungo / Yanga / Gayini Loop
Combine these two experiences and witness the incredible contrast between these desert and wetland landscapes. When viewed from the air it is astounding to think that these sites are within 20 minutes flying time of each other. Fly over Yanga and Gayini en route to Lake Mungo with a morning tea break on ground at Mungo Lodge. Return to Swan Hill over Lake Paika and Balranald township.

Murray River from Swan Hill
Winding glimmering and snake like through the landscape of the region, the central Murray River etched its current course after a geological shift upstream near Barmah created the “narrows” or “choke” 30,000 years ago. Only when seen from the air can one appreciate the significance of the Murray River and the way that its waters create and sustain wetlands, expansive Redgum Forests, agriculture and communities. The Murray River country at Swan Hill is home to the Wamba Wamba traditional owners and upstream at Barham the Barapa Barapa people.

River to Outback Loop Lake Mungo/North Bundy Station Stay
We are so proud to offer this incredible world class experience taking you from the beautiful River Country to the Outback. Fly over the Murray River & Barmah/Millewa Forest and head north to the Hay Plains for a stay overnight at North Bundy working sheep station. Enjoy sunset drinks on the sandhill before relaxing with a meal and campfire. Sleep in the beautifully restored shearers quarters and be spoilt with a full country breakfast.
Depart North Bundy airstrip next morning to fly over the spectacular nature conservation areas of Gayini and Yanga National Park. This region of approx. 200,000 ha is known scientifically as the Lowbidgee Biosphere and is one of the most significant wetland habitats in the Murray Darling Basin. This area includes a myriad of waterholes, floodrunners, creeks and swamps. You will witness the meeting point of the Lachlan and Murrumbidgee Rivers.
Fly on to marvel at the contrast between the wetlands and the desert like, ancient Willandra Lakes World Heritage Area. Land at Lake Mungo for a ground tour and lunch at Mungo Lodge before following the Murray River back to Echuca. A second night add on stay at Lake Paika homestead and ground tour of Yanga National Park is optional depending on availability.

Moira / Barmah Lakes / Murray Valley National Park
The Moira Lake wetland system is one of the largest and most significant wetlands of the mid-Murray River valley. The system consists of two large (total 1500ha), shallow open water lakes surrounded by marshy wetlands, rushes, reeds and grassy plains surrounded by the world’s largest River Redgum Forest. Moira Lake is the NSW component and Barmah Lake the Victorian and both are recognised under the Ramsar Convention as significant breeding sites for colonial nesting water birds and native fish. There have been 291 different bird species recorded in the Murray Valley National Park and the Barmah Moira Lakes.
A flight over this natural feature of the Murray River system reveals the scale and breathtaking beauty of both the forest and wetlands. The patterns of gold, pink and green reed beds vary seasonally in the wetlands, whilst the Murray River quietly flows down this ancient path and the forest stretches as far as the eye can see. This area is the traditional home of the Yorta Yorta people.
